Open Metaverse Interoperability Group (OMI Group)

- The Open Metaverse Interoperability Group is an open source community of industry professionals, independent creators, and passionate enthusiasts whose goal is to build interoperable technology together. OMI's mission is to bridge virtual worlds across interfaces & technologies by researching, designing & promoting protocols for identity, social graphs, inventory, and sharing of creative work in the 3D web & open metaverse.

- OMI actively does research, development, events and promotion of protocols toward metaverse interoperability. OMI's work has already impacted interoperability recommendations regarding GLTF physics, avatar & 3D asset interoperability. OMI does not collect dues; it is free to join and remains a tightly-knit group based on shared passions. OMI has 501c3 fiscal sponsorship through Open Collective.
